While this could be considered Sloy's less convincing album, Electrelite is an entertaining listen. By then, the three-piece had established their brand of noise rock in the independant French scene and were looking for a change of pace. Electrelite is that attempt. One could name this disco-punk and, indeed, it's a lot more groove-oriented thant their previous offerings. What it lacks in inspiration, it gains in dynamics making this album a precursor to The Rapture and their kind while still having that distinct "Sloyness" no one can replicate. Sadly, while this opened a new interesting path for Sloy, this was to be the band's final release. Do not miss this, you'll be sorry.
