NICOLAS REPAC

NICOLAS REPAC
LA VILE (1997)
256 KBPS

Can you imagine what Serge Gainsbourg would sound like if mixed with Nine Inch Nails? Well, that's just the best way I could describe this debut album from ex-Arthur H sideman. Word-play is all over the lyrics and the voice itself contributes to the Serge Gainsbourg comparison. The music, while always melodic, has a definitive (light) industrial edge that suits the gloomy, rather dark words so well written by Mr. Repac. Released in 1997, this album failed to meet its audience. It nevertheless remains a peculiar yet entertaining listening experience. Try it!
