THRICE

THRICE
THE ARTIST IN THE AMBULANCE (2003)
320 KBPS

I've been listening to Thrice for a long time, since I picked up a used copy of "Identity Crisis" just after it came out. While I thought their first album was pretty good, these guys have gotten better and better over their short career. "The Artist in the Ambulance," their third album (and first on Island Records), continues the upward trajectory. Thrice combines melody and metal better than most other bands, throwing melodic vocals up against hardcore breakdowns and chugging metal riffs. Singer Dustin Kensrue is capable of letting out some intense screams, too. This is definitely one of the better hardcore/emo/punk/whatever records of the past few years.
