When Georges Brassens and his minimalistic chanson played Great Britain in 1973, very few thought he could succeed interesting non-French speakers to his witty texts and bare melodies. He did and, though there might have been a lot of French in the room, this live shows that you don't necessarily have to play with a big formation to win an audience. Brassens' talent and bittersweet humour works perfectly. Whatsmore, this live is a great introduction to the man's art as all the songs features here are timeless classics. Try it.
