Blind guitar hero Jeff Healey's debut album, SEE THE LIGHT, is a great debut which proves that a handicap doesn't have to be a handicap. Healey's guitar work is hot, recalling Duane Allman, Dickey Betts, Johnny Winter, and Billy Gibbons, and his rhythm section of bassist Joe Rockman and drummer Tom Stephen is one of the tightest since Double Trouble. He does a great job with the rocker "Confidence Man", and his version of "Angel Eyes" is actually better than John Hiatt's exceptional original. Unlike some blues singers, Healey knows not to overemote, making this the best white blues debut since Stevie Ray Vaughan's TEXAS FLOOD. We miss you Mr. Healey...
