You may think SP is a joke bands, but they're really not. Yes, they play black metal, but it's an extremely different and original black metal. All the songs are on the slower side, which gives a big doom metal feel. Some of the riffs are black metal, but it's BM in its lighter side. But I really can't forget to mention the hilarious song titles. "An Evil Shade of Pink", "Mutant Ninja Penguins (From Hell)" and "Gargamel's Revenge II" aren't title you see in normal black metal.
The only problem with this album is that sometimes the songwriting is too weak. Some of the riffs sound like they were made in minutes, which leads to the some riffs being repetitive. However it doesn't mean that they're not original! The best song here is definitely "Mutant Ninja Penguins (From Hell)", which is the most melodic song on the album. This one also falls more on the epic side, which made me picture a battle in medieval times.
Despite these few flaws and the rather comical theme, this album comes in handy when you want to hear some different black metal. Though you shouldn't be expecting raw black metal - SP is unique.
