GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR

GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR
LIFT YOUR SKINNY FISTS
LIKE ANTENNAS TO HEAVEN (2000)
320 KBPS

Well first things first this is the one of the most experimental albums/bands I have heard, and yeah I've heard a good few in my time but no one does it as well as this band. You cannot simply listen to a track of this album individually you have to sit there and listen to it all. To me it's an instrumental audio book of pure intellect and genius. Songs like static that use sound clips ranging from tannoy announcements to philosophical, biblical babble with beautiful soundscapes being played over the top. Not one song on this album sounds the same as the rest and to me that shows an adventurous listen that keeps your ears glued to the music. This album makes me think a million things about life and existence at once and is in no way to be used as background music. The simplistic casing is all that is needed for this album, nothing fancy but in no way un-interesting. The inside illustrations are bizarre and have a very primitive style but can be interpreted into many different things. I suggest if you're thinking of buying this album then you are thinking wisely, buy it and take it home and sit there buy yourself, clear your mind of everything and listen to these discs and nothing else. Listen intently and take in every note that surrounds you. One of the most impressive and cleaver albums out there.
