What can one say about Björk? She's a genius in her own right.
Gling-Gló is sung almost entirely in Icelandic (except for Ruby Baby and I Can't Help Loving That Man), but that makes little difference. It's the power of her voice that is so moving. She sings like a lions roar and then a second later quietly whispers.
The trió Guðmundar Ingólfssonar are on level with Björk's voice. Appropriately soft when Björk's voice should shine above the rest, and strong and vibrant when it's their turn. Very good musical work.
Songs like "Það Sést Ekki Sætari Mey" are appropriately whimsical and soft, while songs like "Í Dansi Með Þér" are darker, but still very fun.
The whole feel of this CD is one that wasn't made for profit or because of a contact, it feels as if everyone involved got to create some great music and just have a good time. It shows in the music.
