2 albums of one of the most underrated pop band France has ever had: L'Affaire Louis Trio! After gaining success with a rather novelty inclined pop L'Affaire Louis Trio slowly evolved to become a more refined pop act in the 90's.
Comparisons to late XTC or The Beatles (to name a few) can easily be drawn when it comes to this awesome band...

MOBILIS IN MOBILE (1993)

4th album, "Mobilis in Mobile" (released in 1993) was entirely inspired by the famous fictional character Captain Nemo, the hero of Jules Verne’s novel "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea". Compared to the group’s earlier work, "Mobilis in Mobile" was an altogether more sober work. The vibrant brass sections and brash pop arrangements of "Chic planète" (their first big hit back in 1987) had now been replaced by guitars, sophisticated backing vocals and more intelligent lyrics. L’Affaire Louis Trio were certainly working hard to throw off their poppy "cartoon" image. It got the huge success it deserved and remains a great pop album.

Having lost their third member but nevertheless keeping the "Trio" as part of their name, L'affaire released their last album in 1997. The new songs had a more poetic feel to them than the group’s earlier work. In my humble opinion, this is their finest piece of work. It sadly sold poorly (maybe handicaped by quite an ugly artwork). The version presented here includes the four bonus songs from the limited 1rst edition. The remaining duet disbanded after their final tour but the music remains and is worth your time! Trust me, if you like pop music as it's meant to be, you won't be disappointed!
