So what exactly makes a great Metal album? Is it complexity and intensity of "Master of Puppets", the sheer brutality of Slayer's "Reign in Blood", or the bump and grind of Aerosmith's "Rocks"? Whatever the secret is, Armored Saint found that magic combination and then some with their masterpiece, "Delirious Nomad". From the opening riff of "Long Before I Die" to John Bush's laugh towards the end of "Released", this is one of those albums that has all of the essentials to make a classic: incredible songs, soaring guitar work by the late Dave Prichard, a rock solid rhythm section, and one of the best lead singers ever in John Bush. Without a doubt, it is one of those albums for the ages.

your re pretty much sums up all the good points of their music . bush is indeed one of metals greatest voices and supremely underrated . following the release of the also excellent symbol of salvation album (their first after the passing away of guitarist dave pritchard , he left the band to join new york thrasher anthrax , who had just kicked out joey belladonna . he recorded four regular studio albums (especially the outstanding volume 8 ).he left the band as anthrax reunited with belladonna for a tour . he currently does a few selected gigs with his old saint buddies , but seems to have otherwise retreated from the music business - what a fuckin´shame (pardon my french , but as you can see by length of this entry im quite partial to the man and his talent . as james hetfield wasn´t the recognised stage presence he is today metallica considered bush to join them , to give james the freedom to concentrate on his rhythm guitar parts , but bush refused , because he believed saint were going to become successful soon , so ride the lightning ended up with hetfield vocals and armored saint pretty much in metal obscurity - unfortunately only remembered by other old metal farts like me , oh well..... harry lime
