Those who've already downloaded the previous Gotainer entry on this very blog will notice a real change of pace on this 3rd album of the funniest man of French chanson. Much more synthesiser oriented, Chants Zazous belongs to its time: the 80s. Nevertheless, this is, for those who can stomach the production and arrangements, a delight of wordplays and happy songs. Whatsmore, you have the 7 parts epic "Les Quatre Saisons" which alone makes this album worth your time. Other highlights are Trois Vieux Papis (where Gotainer uses different voices for each of the characters) and Capitaine Hard Rock which uses the words of the Capitaine Haddock (Tintin's beardead angry sidekick) for a delightful and hilarious mock-hard rock song. All in all, this is my favourite Gotainer album.
