The end of the 90s marked the begining of a quality noise scene in France. Among it, one band surfaces as a potential leader: Portobello Bones.
Politically concert (hence the title of the album) and very clever, all the lyrics from this album are coming from feminist manifestos which is unusual enough to be noticed.
Harsh guitars, passionate vocals, a peculiar groove throughout the whole album serving great melodies on a quality production by David Weber... This is what those frenchies give you and it's just one of the best albums of its kind. Yes, it's that good.

Two years before what I consider their finest opus, Portobello Bones released their "duets" album. Here the band teams up with some of its peers that happened to be friends too but you had already guessed it seeing the album title.
So, not everything works but, when it does, as it does on more of half the album, it gives us something unlike anything a noise/hardcore band ever delivered.
Fusing their uncompromised/intelligent sound with those of other quality formations, Portobello Bones deliver a remarkable album with many good surprises.
