Drop everything and grab this. North of America are Nova Scotia's preeminent rock unit. This record is the first significant CD version release in North America of the LP that they released themselves in a run of 300. This record actually was released before the very excellent Dance Floor Numerology LP.
North of America sound like what the bastard son of Polvo and Shotmaker might have developed into had they allowed themselves to mature and also incorporated elements of the heyday of Chicago's take on this whole indie, post-everything scene. The Sepultura contains 6 driving angular stabs of sound that cut through all the insipid crap that passes as indie these days. Great lyrics, odd-melodies and a dry wit are are but a few of the many tools in the Les Norts shed.
1. Now You've Got Your Doctorate, Don't Forget to Doctor It
2. That's a Convincing Argument, Michael
3. Destroy Tambourine
4. Black Stabbath
5. Like Flint
6. Font Crimes
