Multitalented jazz musician and bandleader Riccardo del Fra is a jazz composer particularly renowned for atmospheric film music, a sideman to such expatriate American musicians as Chet Baker, Johnny Griffin and Kenny Wheeler. His new CD, roses & roots, is the direct result of the Jazoo project del Fra undertook with the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, and features a number of most impressive young jazz talents (and John Zorn's drummer, Joey Baron!) in a small ensemble setting.
