Heading from Austin in Texas, Calvin Russell, 52 at the time of this recording, has been discovered by Patrick Mathé of the French label New Rose in the early 90s. After 6 studio albums and an electric live one, he decided it was time for him to launch an acoustic tour. The result of this experience lays in this very release. What we're having here is some pure rootsy, folksy blues à la Tejas, no fireworks or pompous arrangements, just plain ole acoustic music, wood and sweat all the way.
Those already familiar with Calvin's work will not be disappointed with "Crossroad", those not yet acquainted with the man will be pleased to discover a genuine talent that sadly went quite unnoticed except in France where he gained a cult status, a well deserved one that is.
