DAVID BOWIE
BBC RADIO THEATRE,

Recorded and filmed in June 2000 at BBC Radio Theatre for a very lucky small audience consisting of celebrities, members of BowieNet and some very lucky fans, this live album captures Bowie performing at his best.
Opening the show with a great version of "Wild is the Wind", Bowie and his band play with precision and perfection. They perform a wide variety of songs from all stages of his career, including many songs not played live for many years, including "Absolute Beginners", "This Is Not America", "Always Crashing in the Same Car", "Cracked Actor" and the most amazing and moving version of "Ashes to Ashes" I've ever heard.
Bowie performs songs from his then recent studio album, Hours... along with a selection of his more famous songs such as "The Man Who Sold the World", "Little Wonder", "Hallo Spaceboy" and a really great version of his classic hit, "Let's Dance" to close the show.
Watching the broadcast on TV was an emotional experience for me, to hear all these wonderful songs played so well and sounding so fresh - I was so happy this was released as a live album the following day. In many ways it could be the definitive live Bowie album - except it's pretty tough to get hold of now! Lucky I had it in stock so here it is for you to enjoy!
