PULP fans are strange. They can't seem to agree as to which is PULP's best album. As for me, I say This Is Hardcore combined with the bonus CD, This Is Glastonbury. The album itself is magnificent, and has led me to snatch up other PULP albums, none of which come close to This Is Hardcore (Different Class, the album just prior to this one is almost there, but I still like this one better). Every song is poetically written, and majestically scored, and it's a really great album to play loud. My neighbors seem not to mind this one. There is not a bad song on this album at all, I think the best ones are Help The Aged, A Little Soul, Sylvia, Glory Days, and the title track. The extra CD showcases them doing a top notch performance at the Glastonbury Festival. The sound quality is excellent, and there is no audience interferance common with live albums. Jarvis takes time between songs to talk to the audience, and durring one song he asks the lighting guys to dim the lights, repeatedly, but they don't, so, he sings, "Fine, don't dim the lights". The live version of Seductive Barry is far supieror to the album track. If you already have the regular release of this album, get this one anyway!
