Formerly known as the leader of Les VRPs & Les Nonnes Troppo, Nery launched his solo career in 1998, Belgistan is his fourth album.
After the minimalistic/humoresque style of both is previous bands, Néry chose to use more classical musical formations for his solo career. His songwriting is always recognizable even if the humour, though not absent, has been majorly downtuned.
Belgistan, as his title might have made you guess, has gypsy undertones that gives an extra-flavour to Néry's quality songwriting.
Those who liked Néry's previous musical adventures will not be disappointed and others, those a little less fond of LOLmusic, might very well find some means of satisfaction in this savoury album. Strongly recommented.
