Emilie's 2003 debut self titled album is a perfect blend of electronic experimentations, trip hop feel and great pop melodies. The girl possesses one of the most charming voice I've ever heard and could be labeled as Kate Bush's little french sister.
Having learned at the famous french school of music IRCAM (from which came Pierre Henry among many others), there's no doubt this girl can master ambiance like no one else in her particular field of play. She proved that with as much talent on the soundtrack to La Marche de l'Empereur and her second and mindblowing 2006'second album "Végétal".
This one remains one of my favourite girl music achievement of the last 10 years. You ought to give it a try!
