Fin Fang Foom could be one of the standard-bearers of the North Carolina scene. Running the gambit from aggressive, powerful post-hardcore rock a la Fugazi and Engine Down to more structured, textured bands like their companions White Octave and Sorry About Dresden, this band shows amazing talent and poise while still maintaining an edge. The vocals are unique, the guitars stellar, and the rhythm often verging on the intricacies of math-rock. And while this band will be a must for fans of bands like Cursive, Engine Down, and Fugazi, they have a style that's purely their own.
