FRANCOIS HADJI-LAZARO

FRANCOIS HADJI-LAZARO

François Hadji-Lazaro, from Les Garçons Bouchers - Pigalle - Los Carayos, releases here his fourth solo album after 1996's François Detexte Topor, 2003's Et Si Que and 2005's Contre Courant (on which there was 2 duets with Olivia Ruiz). As usually, you will find here a mix of chanson and folk (with the use of many traditional instruments such as the hurdy gurdy and many others...) served by François' typical voice. Amateurs of Pigalle and Los Carayos will be particularly delighted by this album as it does really sound like a mix of both those bands (with more ¨Pigalle than Los Carayos). In my opinion, this is François' finest solo album and though it might not be up to the best productions of his previous bands, it's certainly worth a try. A very fine album.
