Martin (L) Gore second solo experience (after the Counterfeit EP) is, once more, devoted to covering artists and songs he enjoys. The overall sound is quite close to what Depeche Mode sounded like at the time: a mix of pop and electronica with heartfelt vocals and clever arrangements. Several of the tracks though could easily be listened to without the vocals, and wouldn't seem far out of place on labels like Morr or Toytronic. But when the vocals combine with the music, the end result can be a real treat. Be curious, try it and you'll be rewarded hundredfold!
