Easily my favorite of Mingus' high quality discography, The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady is a one of a kind album! It mixes musicals' music, big band jazz and ballet music in a dizzying 4 tracks 37 minutes masterpiece! It also demonstrates how very musically revolutionary Mingus was in the sixties. Released on the referential label Impulse! in 1963, it's one of the best jazz records I've ever heard, upbeat, sensual, crazy... captivating! A MUST HAVE!
