If you've never heard of Far before, I'd definitely recommend this album. People said it but they really don't sound that much like the Deftones, though at times singer Jonah Matranga's voice does sound dead-on like Deftones singer Chino Moreno's, that was before he began focusing on calmer grounds. Altogether, however, their overall musical bent leans more toward the likes of the Smashing Pumpkins than anybody else, and some of their songs ("Mother Mary" for one) sound a lot more like pop rock than hardcore. A great album by a great band that should have been big but called it a day for all band members desired other things than worldwide fame...
