Formed by ex-The Grip Willie Downling and ex-The Wildhearts CJ, HoneyCrack is a power pop quintet that released only one album. I bought this album, before it was released, in a second-hand record shop in Paris and was amazed by the melodic talent and incredible energy the band possessed. I've never been a fan of The Wildhearts and I have to admit I've never heard a single note from Downling's ex-band but this one's a winner. Here you'll find upbeat and mid-tempo power pop gems (the two classy ballads being the icing on the cake). The overall feel of the album is one that will please early XTC fans and all those who enjoy rocking pop with a slightly sixties feel. The bonus track come from the two singles the band has released: King of Misery & Go Away. A lost gem if there's ever been one so... ENJOY!
