IRON MAIDEN

IRON MAIDEN
KILLERS (1981)
320 KBPS

Some consider their debut and Number of the Beast to be their magnum opus... I disagree. My favorites are Piece of Mind and Killers and since the latter almost never get the praise it deserves, I had to spotlight it. It's the first album Iron Maiden recorded with legendary producer Martin Birch (Deep Purple, Rainbow, Blue Öyster Cult, Black Sabbath, Whitesnake and many others) and thus the first Iron Maiden album to have a real fitting production. As on their debut, there's still a punky feel to some of the music (thanks to Paul Di'Anno's singing). It also contains what I think to be one of Iron Maiden's ultimate classics: Prodigal Son! As there are no weak songs and a true New Wave of British Heavy Metal sound to it, it's both a testimony of that golden era for heavy metal and a classic album younger metalheads can and should enjoy! A CLASSIC!

1. The Ides Of March
2. Wrathchild
3. Murders In The Rue Morgue
4. Another Life
5. Genghis Khan
6. Innocent Exile
7. Killers
8. Prodigal Son
9. Purgatory
10. Twilight Zone
11. Drifter
