Formed by singer/songwriter Antoine Essertier from Toulouse (south west of France), La Foule did just one album. Classic rock is clearly the label which should be put on this album, yet, there's a little more to it than just that. First, the formation includes a percussionist, something most classic rock bands don't do. Second, Essertier's relatively pop songwriting is sometimes enriched with middle-eastern melodies that perfectly fit the bill. Due to a label that never really supported them and media that basically ignored their music, La Foule got very little success for what remains a killer rock album, a hidden gem and a must hear for anyone into rock music!
