After the success of his 1974's debut album, Souchon returned with new-found confidence and a bunch of new songs that helped him secure a postition as one of the promising talents of 70s French chanson. Not much has changed since "J'Ai Dix Ans", it's basically the same fragile, post adolescent 70s pop and Souchon's lyrics indeed display the same kind of naivety he did on his debut. What strikes me with Souchon is how timeless his music is, "Bidon" might very well be 33 years old, it might very well have been released this year save for a few arrangements. So, if you like bittersweet chanson, you know what to do.
