STARZ

STARZ
STARZ (1976)
REMASTER
320 KBPS

Starz' debut was accompanied by a great deal of promotional hype from Capitol Records, and for once the hype was justified. Their live act always drew rave reviews, and the debut album delivered a solid underpinning for the group's foundation. However,Starz had yet to completely solidify their sound. That would happen with the next album, "Violation". In the meantime, "Starz" is a good album with a few standout cuts ("Night Crawler", "Monkey Business", Detroit Girls") and a bit of controversy ("Pull The Plug") thrown in for good measure.

1. Detroit Girls
2. Live Wire
3. Tear It Down
4. Boys in Action
5. (She's Just A) Fallen Angel
6. Monkey Business
7. Night Crawler
8. Over and Over
9. Pull the Plug
10. Now I Can
Bonus Tracks
11. Sweet Jeremiah [Demo Version]
12. Fallen Angel [Demo Version]
13. Detroit Girls [Demo Version]
14. Live Wire [Demo Version]

Thank you for posting this Mr Moodswings. This and their second album Violation (which I've noticed you've also posted) are Starz at their very best. They went in a more power pop direction with their third. In fact when Kerrang published their 100 greatest heavy metal albums (back in 1989) the first two Starz albums were at 94 and 84 respectively. Not bad for a band most of you have probably never heard of.
