What you're having here is of Historic value. This is the very first recording of Shostakovich 5th Symphony and was captured in USSR back in 1938. So, what you shouldn't expect is some hi-fi, overpolished sound, if that's what you're looking for, it's better to look somewhere else. But, if you're looking for a passionate rendition of one of the master's finest works, you will be pleased beyond belief. This archive has been remastered in 1998 so to clean the sound a bit, nevertheless, it remains pretty raw but, like I told you before, this is one of those pieces of art that made history and, therefore, a must have!
