Les Thugs, a French band from Angers, not only were the first French formation to sign on alternative cult label Alternative Tentacles, they also gained a cult status in the US proto-grunge scene. Their music mixes punk, noise rock, psychedelism and pop in a unique way. Maybe too unique actually as the band never made it as big as it deserved. As Happy As Possible was to be their final release in a string of artistic successes. A cult band if there ever was one and a must hear for anyone into intelligent punk music.
