2008's Souchon. It might not come as a surprise for those who already know the man that it's a good album developping more of the same mix of melancholy, pop sensibility and social preoccupations. What is unusual is that Souchon did most of the songs by himself only relying on Laurent Voulzy and his own son Pierre on three songs. And while it might not be Alain's greatest achievement, it certainly is a good album those looking for classic Souchon will delightfully consume.
Rumour has it that his next album (scheduled to be released in 2010) might very well be a "duets" album which promises quite an interesting feast depending on who the artists chosen will be.
Anyway, here's the album celebrating Souchon's 35 years as a recording artist. Enjoy.
